Welcome to our new website!! IODE Angela Bruce chapter has been operating within the Oakville community since 1933. I encourage all to read the history of our chapter. It’s fun and historically memorable! Over the last 91 years the women of IODE have adapted and responded to the needs of the community within Oakville and the surrounding area and into Mississauga. Supporting education and issues related to shelter and food insecurity specific to family, women and children, has been our focus for a few years, responding to the needs once again of our communities.

Currently most of our fundraising comes from your donations and sales through our thrift shop located at 432 Kerr St., Oakville. We also hold fundraising events within our organization and are looking to extend it to fundraising events outside membership. At the end of the day, the more money we make, the more we have to give to our community! Our shop is totally non-profit meaning all proceeds, except rent and incidentals, go directly into “Education” and charities or “Services”.

Each year we offer a bursary to a graduating student from each of Oakville’s high schools, based on their need for support in their post-secondary education endeavours. We also give annual bursaries to support students at Sheridan College as well as an annual award for a student in their musical theatre program. 

Our list of charities within the Services umbrella is numerous. Currently we are focussing on shelters, food banks and supportive programs from Burlington to Mississauga. Every year we try to add either more money to Services and/or more programs to benefit from your help!

The Angela Bruce chapter of IODE espouses the IODE Mission Statement: IODE Canada is a national women’s charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals through education support, community service and citizenship programs. Our Statement of values is: IODE Canada’s core values of respect, integrity, inclusiveness, and dedication to excellence are the foundation of service to the public and IODE members.these core values provide us with the means of guiding and evaluating decisions, operations, planning and teamwork in support of IODE’s mission. We are always happy to discuss our dedication to the community and entertain new membership in our organization.
